NOTES
(This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be helpful,
but is not mandatory.)
6.1 Intended use. The pressure regulating valve covered by this specification is intended
for use in aircraft to sense changes in acceleration force and to provide pressure for the operation
of military aircrewmen anti-g suits according to those changes.
6.2 Ordering data. Acquisition documents should specify the following:
a. Title, number and date of this specification.
b. MS part number including dash number of valve required (see 3.4).
c. Instructions for forwarding first article samples when first article is required (see 4.3.1).
d. Packaging requirements (see 5.1).
6.3 Qualification. With respect to products requiring qualification, awards will be made
only for products which are, at the time of award of contract, qualified for inclusion in Qualified
Products List, QPL 9370, whether or not such products have actually been so listed by that date.
The attention of the contractors is called to these requirements, and manufacturers are urged to
arrange to have the products that they propose to offer to the Federal Government tested for
qualification in order that they may be eligible to be awarded contracts or orders for the products
covered by this specification. Information pertaining to qualification of products may be
obtained from Commander, Naval Air Systems Command, Code 4.6.2.2, 48110 Shaw Road,
Bldg. 2187, Patuxent River, MD 20670.
6.4 Laboratory information. If first article is not waived, the successful bidder will be
furnished the name and address of the laboratory to which the samples are to be shipped at the
time of the award (see 4.3.1). The cost of the inspection on samples initially submitted from a
lot shall be borne by the Government whether the tests and examinations are conducted by the
Government or by a laboratory selected by the Government. Samples from a rejected lot shall
not be resubmitted for tests and examinations without the approval of the contracting officer.
The cost of the tests and examinations on samples submitted from a reworked lot or from a new
lot which is necessitated by the rejection of a previous lot shall be borne by the manufacturer,
whether the inspection is conducted by the Government or by a laboratory selected by the
Government.
